  • Tip. It is customary to tip your crew at the end of your charter. The amount you leave is at your discretion and should be based on the level of service provided. The suggested gratuity is 15-20% of the total charter fee.



Born and raised in Sicily in the south of Italy, Umberto has spent a great deal of time around the water. Even as a young child he was passionate about watersports, fishing and outdoor activities. After he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration in Milan, he traveled to Australia to work in hospitality at the famous Sydney Opera House, he also lived in Hong Kong for 4 months while interning for a digital start-up.


In 2017 he found himself back in Italy and decided to spend more time on the water and thus started working for The Yacht Week, a popular flotilla company that operates in the Mediterranean but also in other locations like BVI, Martinique and Tahiti. Starting as a Skipper and moving quickly to higher positions such as Lead Skipper and Route Manager. For 2 years he also held the role of Instructor for Quarterdeck, a company that trains and mentors professional skippers.


In the 6 years he worked for Quarterdeck and The Yacht Week, he completed more than 80 charters in several locations around the Mediterranean and abroad, covering more than 100,000 nautical miles.


When not on the water, he also likes to drive motorbikes. One of his most memorable trips was in India driving through the highest motorable pass in the world at +5.000 meters of altitude.


Daryl is a Le Cordon Bleu London trained chef from beautiful Cape Town, South

Africa. After gaining experience at a number restaurants, including being the chef for South Africa’s first plant-based zero-waste sushi restaurant, she decided to follow her passion for ocean and adventure, and work abroad sailing yachts.


She has worked two seasons abroad yachts in Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Tahiti, St. Lucia and the BVI. With her niche interest in healthy food and gut health, she also worked as an instructor at Stir Crazy Cooking School, hosting healthy food classes in Cape Town. Daryl loves creating food that is fresh, delicious, colorful and innovative. She has travelled to over 30 different countries and has learnt a great deal about differing food cultures. Her favorites that inspire her cuisine the most are Thai, Japanese, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Middle Eastern.


She believes food has the potential to elevate any experience, and she is confident that her food will bring immense joy and satisfaction to the table. When she is not in the galley crafting her magic, she loves surfing, hiking, snowboarding, yoga and hosting quiz nights! She is very much looking froward to being a part of this incredibly unique and joyous experience on charter with you!

Thank you for a truly amazing trip! It was so fun seeing Townes and Harris experience the BVI for the first time. Everything was outstanding - the food, the service and especially how amazing you both were with the little ones. It was truly the trip of a lifetime - we will be back!

I truly don't know where to begin to show our appreciation for this week. Absolutely everything exceeded any expectations we had going into this 40th b-day trip. It was fun, relaxing, and so incredibly memorable. We enjoyed your company and learning about the both of you. I have tried things food wise I would have never imagined I would have liked. You have a beautiful gift and I really hope we can stay in touch. You two make an incredible team and we will never forget this trip. Thank you for pouring your love, energy and effort into making this the BEST trip ever. Much love to you both.


Where do I start?  First of all, I wanted to say this to you all in person but my emotions were getting the best of me and I wanted to ensure that I could properly thank you for such an amazing trip.  You know it is a good one when you are getting teary just leaving.  The two of you made our week better than we could have imagined.  We all had high expectations for the trip since it was one of the first times that we all traveled together and was a trip we had been planning for a while.  You blew our expectations out of the water and it was beyond wonderful.  I know that you both took a lot of time preparing for us and I can't say thank you enough.  


Umbi, the itinerary you planned for us was perfect.  Every place we went was wonderful and perfect for our group.  We loved the islands, restaurants, and dinners you planned for us.  You were always on top of every detail to make it a memorable trip always ensuring we were enjoying ourselves.  I know you said you are still figuring out your next steps and what you want to do eventually, but I think you are in the right place.  You make everyone feel so comfortable, are a great leader, and have such a calm presence that makes everyone enjoy their time with you.


Kiki, you blew us away!  Although we loved the restaurants, we all agreed that not much can compare to your cooking and baking.  The hours that you and Umbi spent preparing multiple meals each day was not overlooked and we appreciate you accommodating everyone. We without a doubt were so lucky you could join us this week and I am not sure there is a better chef in the BVIs.  There is no doubt in my mind that you will achieve your dreams of having your own restaurant.


Both of you made this experience so much fun!  We are so glad you joined us for dinners, partying, and relaxing.  Getting to know you this trip was a blast and we hope it is not the last.  I am sure all of your guests offer for you to come visit, but I truly hope if you ever have the opportunity to come to Annapolis that you will visit us.  Our door is always open to you both!  I also hope that we can charter with you both again, whether it be in the BVIs or Greece.  We hope you will keep in touch.  We obviously love you both since we were trying to get you both to come live with us in our community!🙂


I am going to send pictures through Whatsapp since there are so many fun ones and it is easier from my phone, but we cherish the memories we made with you and it brings me pure joy going back through all the fun we had with you both.
