Tip. It is customary to tip your crew at the end of your charter. The amount you leave is at your discretion and should be based on the level of service provided. The suggested gratuity is 15-20% of the total charter fee.
THE CREW
UMBERTO
Born and raised in Sicily in the south of Italy, Umberto has spent a great deal of time around the water. Even as a young child he was passionate about watersports, fishing and outdoor activities. After he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration in Milan, he traveled to Australia to work in hospitality at the famous Sydney Opera House, he also lived in Hong Kong for 4 months while interning for a digital start-up.
In 2017 he found himself back in Italy and decided to spend more time on the water and thus started working for The Yacht Week, a popular flotilla company that operates in the Mediterranean but also in other locations like BVI, Martinique and Tahiti. Starting as a Skipper and moving quickly to higher positions such as Lead Skipper and Route Manager. For 2 years he also held the role of Instructor for Quarterdeck, a company that trains and mentors professional skippers.
In the 6 years he worked for Quarterdeck and The Yacht Week, he completed more than 80 charters in several locations around the Mediterranean and abroad, covering more than 100,000 nautical miles.
When not on the water, he also likes to drive motorbikes. One of his most memorable trips was in India driving through the highest motorable pass in the world at +5.000 meters of altitude.
DARYL
Daryl is a Le Cordon Bleu London trained chef from beautiful Cape Town, South
Africa. After gaining experience at a number restaurants, including being the chef for South Africa’s first plant-based zero-waste sushi restaurant, she decided to follow her passion for ocean and adventure, and work abroad sailing yachts.
She has worked two seasons abroad yachts in Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Tahiti, St. Lucia and the BVI. With her niche interest in healthy food and gut health, she also worked as an instructor at Stir Crazy Cooking School, hosting healthy food classes in Cape Town. Daryl loves creating food that is fresh, delicious, colorful and innovative. She has travelled to over 30 different countries and has learnt a great deal about differing food cultures. Her favorites that inspire her cuisine the most are Thai, Japanese, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Middle Eastern.
She believes food has the potential to elevate any experience, and she is confident that her food will bring immense joy and satisfaction to the table. When she is not in the galley crafting her magic, she loves surfing, hiking, snowboarding, yoga and hosting quiz nights! She is very much looking froward to being a part of this incredibly unique and joyous experience on charter with you!

JANUARY 2024 - BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
Where do I start? First of all, I wanted to say this to you all in person but my emotions were getting the best of me and I wanted to ensure that I could properly thank you for such an amazing trip. You know it is a good one when you are getting teary just leaving. The two of you made our week better than we could have imagined. We all had high expectations for the trip since it was one of the first times that we all traveled together and was a trip we had been planning for a while. You blew our expectations out of the water and it was beyond wonderful. I know that you both took a lot of time preparing for us and I can't say thank you enough.
Umbi, the itinerary you planned for us was perfect. Every place we went was wonderful and perfect for our group. We loved the islands, restaurants, and dinners you planned for us. You were always on top of every detail to make it a memorable trip always ensuring we were enjoying ourselves. I know you said you are still figuring out your next steps and what you want to do eventually, but I think you are in the right place. You make everyone feel so comfortable, are a great leader, and have such a calm presence that makes everyone enjoy their time with you.
Kiki, you blew us away! Although we loved the restaurants, we all agreed that not much can compare to your cooking and baking. The hours that you and Umbi spent preparing multiple meals each day was not overlooked and we appreciate you accommodating everyone. We without a doubt were so lucky you could join us this week and I am not sure there is a better chef in the BVIs. There is no doubt in my mind that you will achieve your dreams of having your own restaurant.
Both of you made this experience so much fun! We are so glad you joined us for dinners, partying, and relaxing. Getting to know you this trip was a blast and we hope it is not the last. I am sure all of your guests offer for you to come visit, but I truly hope if you ever have the opportunity to come to Annapolis that you will visit us. Our door is always open to you both! I also hope that we can charter with you both again, whether it be in the BVIs or Greece. We hope you will keep in touch. We obviously love you both since we were trying to get you both to come live with us in our community!🙂
I am going to send pictures through Whatsapp since there are so many fun ones and it is easier from my phone, but we cherish the memories we made with you and it brings me pure joy going back through all the fun we had with you both.

Umbi and Kylie - We knew coming into this trip that it would be amazing. What we did not know was that you two would have a huge impact on making it a once in a lifetime memory. From beginning to end you both were beyond Five Stars. Your wonderful personalities and exceptional care did not go unnoticed and definitely not unappreciated. Kylie - the presentation and unbelievable variety of tastes is like something I have never had. Dear Hugo and Judith, it is hard to put into words what an amazing experience this has been. Truly a once in a lifetime experience enjoying some of the most beautiful of God's creations on an outstanding boat, with the best crew we could have every imagined. We are so impressed with how talented and professional you have both been throughout the entire week. The two of you and all your hard work added sooo much to our vacation. We are so grateful that we got to spend this time together making such wonderful memories that we can cherish for years to come. Judith your delicious meals day after day truly spoiled us - each day we were excited to discover what you lovingly prepared - you are an artist in the kitchen! Your beautiful smile and sunny personality lightened every day. Umbi, we always felt safe with you as our captain. Your skills showed us everything you did we knew without a doubt that you could handle any situation that might arise. You are a joy to be around and a gracious host. MAY 2023 - BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
The Sedona 6 of us cannot say enough good things about this boat with Umbi and Judith! To say this trip exceeded our expectations is an understatement. We all cook but Judith blew us away with her creativity, choices and presentation of every meal. There was no such thing as a "simple or light" meal. For Umbi, the sailing was so effortless we knew we were in good hands. The planning and choices of stops and side trips fit our group perfectly. Best thing, we never had a lack for anything - food or drink! Lots of love to your both for making our week magical!

We had a wonderful week. We've been looking forward to this trip to 10 years to celebrate my 50th in the BVIs. On my 40th birthday, my wife asked, "What are you going to do for your 50th?" I said, "I want to celebrate in the BVIs." Y'all made my trip a dream trip and it was the best birthday ever!

We had an amazing vacation in the BVI's on Oceana! From the moment we entered the boat and were greeted by our strikingly good looking crew, John and Tracy. Every detail is accounted for with the very best equipment and decor.
John is an impressive captain! We felt safe with his skilled competence and confidence! Impressive how knowledgable he is! He also strives to create the ultimate experience for his guests.
Tracy is a 5 star chef! Every meal a work of art and delicious! Tracy's calm, patient style made our vacation an exceptional experience! To put it simply I did not want this trip to end! The BVI is one of the best places on earth and this charter confirmed that feeling for me. Oceana is a fabulous vessel and it was amazing to be part of the group to be its first guests!
Tracy and Jon thank you for creating an easy going and relaxing experience. From the sailing, to the water sports, to the beyond delicious meals, to chilling with a glass of wine or other "beverage" 🙂 It was all incredible!
