Tip. It is customary to tip your crew at the end of your charter. The amount you leave is at your discretion and should be based on the level of service provided. The suggested gratuity is 15-20% of the total charter fee.
THE CREW
MENTE
Mente is a seasoned sailor with a lifelong passion for water sports. From the age of 6 he was drawn to the water and started sailing on lasers and Hobie catamarans. While growing up in the Netherlands, almost all of Mente's free time would be spent sailing, and eventually he became a sailing instructor, passing on his love for the sport to others.
At the age of 16, Mente joined School at Sea, a 6 month program, covering over 11,000 miles, all while following the high school curriculum on board. It was this journey that sparked his interest in ocean sailing.
Following high school, Mente joined the 249ft 3-masted Clipper Stad Amsterdam. He worked on deck for 3 years, while also pursuing a Maritime Officer's education at Enkhuizen Nautical College during his time off. It was during this time on board the Stad Amsterdam when Annick and Mente met.
After those 3 years of sailing around the world, Mente pursued an academic Bachelor in Science & Innovation Management, as well as a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship. During this time, he would occasionally run charters in Croatia and Sardinia in summer. Now that he has successfully completed his degrees, he eagerly has returned to sailing in the BVI.
Mente loves sharing his sailing knowledge and passion with guests just as much as he enjoys showing them the blue world both above and below the water's surface. Together, Mente and Annick embody the spirit of adventure and hospitality, and are ready to welcome you aboard for an unforgettable journey on board Apricity.
ANNICK
Introducing Annick, who grew up in the Netherlands and has been sailing since she was a little girl. Whether through sailing vacations or sailing camps, she was always around water. Her journey into hospitality began at the age of 14 when she started working at a restaurant, where her positive energy and welcoming smile quickly became her signature. Her passion for hospitality led her to the International Hospitality School in the Netherlands, where she honed her skills and transformed her love for hospitality and culinary arts into a career. During her studies, she pursued an internship at a luxury hotel in Cape Town.
Surrounded by boats and water her entire life, Annick couldn't resist the sensation of the wind in her hair and the salt on her skin. After completing her studies, she combined her two passions and applied to work aboard the Stad Amsterdam, a 3-masted tall ship, where she sailed the world as a Hospitality Manager. The challenges brought on by COVID led her to transition to a land-based job and after spending 2.5 years behind a desk, Annick is thrilled to be back on the water where she belongs.
Annick owns her own 27ft sailboat and has lived on a houseboat in Amsterdam with Mente. Her greatest joy is providing friends & family with a true five-star experience on her sailboat or hosting dinner parties on their houseboat. She loves experimenting with new dishes, with Italian cuisine being her favorite. If you have any delicious Italian recipes, Annick is always eager to prepare them for you. She can't wait to share the wonders of Apricity with you and create unforgettable memories together on the water!

A week with the best
Mente & Annick - my family and I know this is see ya later not goodbye. We have made friends and memories that will last a lifetime! From the food to the boating knowledge nothing has gone for want!
Annick was fantastic, food was even better, and the attention given to my kids . . . the best!! She always met any want or need with a warm cheery smile! She curtailed her weeklong menu to meet our rather "plain" diet and managed to make even our simple food beautiful and delicious, she truly has a server’s heart! From wonderful chats to delicious food, she always goes above and beyond!
Mente, always eager to answer any and all questions from adults or kids. Always involved doing something. Making drinks (even a kid’s version to make the kids day). Do not miss trying the pina colada, honestly the best I've ever had. Mente's knowledge and willingness to share it is truly remarkable, from great conversation to "intense" card games. There is never a moment he isn't willing to engage! He was so thoughtful he even went very above and beyond to plan an anchorage where we had good cell service for an "important" baseball game we "couldn't miss". To say he is a great captain would be selling him way short!
In closing we are so sad our trip has come to an end but are filled with so much emotion recalling the memories made and there is no doubt that these are memories will be forever etched in our minds. We will see you again sweet friends!

The best food and some super surprising dishes! So diverse, sophisticated and well prepared. Thank you Kylie!
The best captain in the BVI - you took such a good care of us! From water scooters to masks to dingy rides . . . Also - paddle boards, go pro camera and last but not least - the captain cocktail! - it's the best :)
Apricity will be remembered as an incredible experience in the BVI, one that will get us back sooner than later.

DECEMBER 2023 - BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
A family sailed on Apricity, in the British Virgin Islands, filled with joy and glee. Father Andy, with daughters Abbey and Bella, Mother Reina, with son Barrett and daughter Quinn, oh what a stellar crew! They embarked on a New Year's trip, exploring the beauty of the ocean, on a catamaran ship. At Foxy's in Jost Van Dyke, they celebrated the night. With laughter and cheer, under the starry light. Snorkeling in Peter Island, they dove deep, discovering the wonders of the sea, in a world so unique. Hiking the Bath in Virgin Gorda, a true natural delight. Captain Will guided them with skill and grace, navigating the waters, at a steady pace. Chef Kylie prepared meals, delicious and healthy, feeding their bodies and souls with flavors so wealthy.
The Apricity sailed, with love and delight, a journey of togetherness, shining so bright.
